Hollyland Lark M1 Duo is for those who like to create content; of course, you will need microphone audio; this is for better and more satisfying content results. If you only use the default audio from your cellphone or camera, of course, it will be very lacking, my friend, the sound produced will certainly be very unsatisfactory.
Using additional microphone audio will make your sound smoother, clearer, and more pleasant. Many brands have this type of microphone, but this time the admin will discuss the microphone audio from Hollyland, the Hollyland Lark M1.

Design
The charging box size is 83x60x30 mm, and the weight is only 80g. Lard thinks it is very convenient and lightweight for a pair of microphones to put in a bag and take it out. Next is the TX transmitter; the transmitter weighs only 11.8 grams. Less than half the size of a matchbox.
This weight and length do not overload the elements of the speaker’s clothing and do not stand out much in the frame. Unlike other square transceivers, it will not be too intrusive when clipped on clothes.
The receiver of the Hollyland Lark M1 Duo weighs only 17.5 grams, which does not overload the filming equipment and does not create much hassle with placement. The clip of the receiver is made in such a way that it is installed in the “cold shoe” of the camera, body kit, camera strap, or any element of the operator’s, sound engineer, or sound engineer’s clothing.
LED’s
The Lark M1 Duo does not have a display with operational information. All system operating modes are displayed using two LED indicators on the front side of the receiver. Indicators will report on the operating way, the discharge of the battery of the corresponding transmitter, or the receiver itself.
Microphones
Both transmitters incorporate a multidirectional microphone, ideal for interviews between several people or recordings in a controlled environment. Indeed, the non-directivity of the microphones will not allow the voice to be isolated in a noisy environment. These transmitters incorporate a 3.5 mm microphone input enabling us to use the HF system with another microphone, possibly more discreetly.
Easy To Use
Lark M1 Duo consists of one receiver and two transmitters, allowing you to work simultaneously with two speakers or record any other sound sources simultaneously. On the receiver’s side is an output for connecting sound recording equipment and an on/off button for the receiver.
On the other hand, there are buttons for adjusting the output level. If necessary, the receiver is synchronized with the transmitters using the same controls, and the system operation modes are switched. There is also a USB Type-C connector for connecting an external power source. This is useful if you want to extend the receiver’s operating time.
Build Omni Directional Microphone
The downside of the Hollyland Lark M1 Duo is that you have to use only the built-in omnidirectional microphones; you can’t connect external lavaliers in any way – there is no interface for connecting. This can be inconvenient since a black rectangular microphone fixed on clothes in a visible place is not always appropriate in the frame. A small buttonhole is sometimes preferable, and the quality of many modern buttonholes is very pleasing and time-tested. Moreover, a huge logo of the radio system manufacturer will not flash in the frame.
Sound Format
Therefore, we write Stereo without fail; by the way, Hollyland Lark M1 Duo can do this; that is, each interlocutor will be recorded on their track, and even in this case, the male bass will be perfectly audible in each of the two ways, this must be taken into account and fine-tune the gain level during operation. The game with the height of the transmitter on the clothes and the long processing on the installation helps me. In my mind, it would be nice to have the setting of each microphone separately. Lark M1 records sound in 16-bit/48 kHz format; everything is in order here.
Battery
The Lark M1 Duo charging and storage case has compartments to accommodate the receiver and transmitters. The point is equipped with a battery capable of providing a full charge of the system 2 times. A USB Type-C connector is on the bottom side to charge the case.
When fully charged, the built-in batteries of the receivers and transmitters of the Lark M1 Duo system can provide continuous operation for up to 8 hours. The time to fully trust any devices in the Lark M1 Duo kit is 1.5 hours.
Microphone Range
Hollyland focuses on ease of use, Hollyland has Clear noise reduction technology and a range of 200 m. If the first and second solutions are very useful in work, then the third – 200 m – is more controversial than useful since the system is designed for live broadcasts, recordings, vlogging, interviews, podcasting, and networking.
All of which involve working in small spaces near a camera or computer. Why 200 meters? Of course, if you turn on the imagination, it is possible to develop use cases, but for most tasks, 20-30 meters is enough.
Connectivity
The audio signal is transmitted to the receiver via a 2.4 GHz band. We can regret the absence of a 5 GHz band which certainly delivers a less significant range but has the advantage of reducing disturbances and interference from the network and maximizing its performance. The receiver has USB-C, Lightning, and 3.5mm TRS input ports, making it compatible with most smartphones, cameras, and laptops on the market.
A corresponding 3.5 mm jack cable to connect the microphone connection of a camera to the 3.5 mm audio output of the receiver is also included in the scope of delivery. The receiver starts recording videos in the camera as soon as you start recording. The situation is similar to the connection to a smartphone.
All you have to do is plug the appropriate smartphone adapter (with a USB-C connection for Android devices or Lightning connection for iOS devices) into the link on the underside of the transmitter and connect to the smartphone. As soon as the recording of videos is started on the smartphone, the receiver starts recording.
Verdict
This is a HiFi sound quality that provides low distortion. The resulting sound is very similar to the original. High accuracy Without any mods, this kind of good quality can be found in audio devices such as speakers, high-end headphones, etc.
Honestly, I’m going to get rid of all the previous microphones I’ve got for my phone and ones for my camera separately. This one does it all, and it’s so easy to use. It’s plug-and-play. Of course, if you are the type of person that does prefer a microphone with a lavalier microphone just because it’s easier to connect to your shirt, then this one doesn’t have it.
The connection is purely just this clip that you put onto your shirt. If you don’t want to show this, maybe you can hide it inside your shirt. But honestly, it’s super lightweight, and I prefer something that’s plug-and-play. And you don’t need to fiddle about getting your wires to go around from underneath your shirt with lavalier microphones and that kind of thing. Still, Hollyland products for me have been my favorite, especially for my camera accessories.
In my opinion, the Lark M1 must be a worthy decision for those looking for a budget wireless microphone with good sound quality for social media. You can buy it now.
