Last week, we saw two videos from the YouTube channel Atnarr Tech, in which the mobile operating system of Huawei was compared to Google and Apple’s developments, and not to the benefit of the latter. Now another video has appeared from the same source, and it shows a comparison of the operation of the Huawei Mate 40 Pro smartphone with HarmonyOS 2.0 and one of the current Xiaomi flagships with the proprietary MIUI 12.5 shell based on Android.
The video shows us the simultaneous launch of the same applications on smartphones with HarmonyOS 2.0 and MIUI 12.5. It is clear that the speed of launching applications HarmonyOS 2.0 is not inferior to MIUI 12.5, and sometimes ahead of the proprietary shell Xiaomi.
HarmonyOS 2.0 beta testing for developers started in December last year. Huawei has recently opened another phase of open beta testing of this operating system, but it is only available to Chinese users.
Recently, the same source published a video showing a Xiaomi smartphone running the MIUI shell based on the HarmonyOS 2.0 operating system. We also posted a video showing how the Mate 40 Pro running HarmonyOS 2.0 works with all Google applications.
It is also important to keep in mind that HarmonyOS is still in beta and is constantly being improved. The release of the stable version is expected in June along with the presentation of Huawei smartphones and tablets under its control.
