All users that like to take very good pictures and video know Gcam. Gcam is an app that was compiled from Google for all mobiles at start, but now you can officially find it only at Google’s Pixel devices. The good thing is that programmers have managed to port the app to various mobiles, so to be able to take really good pictures and video, specially during the night. Of course there are models that don’t need gcam, like Mi Note 10 or Mi 10 because of their very good camera, but unfortunatelly, not all of have these two mobiles. And if you think there is no difference, just check the two following images. Both of them are taken with default setting with my Xiaomi 8, the first is with Gcam, the second is with the cameraapp of the mobile.
If you want and you to install Gcam, all you need now is the app Gcamator from Playstore.
After you download and install the app, the first thing you will see will be this…
As you see at the lower part of the screen, three tabs appear in the app: Camera2Api, Your GCam and Gcam Database.
At the first tab, the app recognizes if you have the Camera2Api enabled or not. In my Xiaomi 8 this feature is anabled by default. If not, you will need to root your mobile to enable it
At the second tab, the app checks what kind of mobile you have, if there is a gcam to install and if you have already installed a gcam version as I have. If there is not a gcam to install, there is an option tro notify the creator of the app to add it.
At the third tab you will find all the models that the app support. Don’t worry, the app supports really many models, so is unlikely not to find yours. Just for the record, it doesn’t support only Xiaomi mobiles. Check some of the models supported….
Next to each model you see a number. This is the version of the Android supported. If you have other version from the one listed, the app will crash. So download the gcam app and shoot the best photos ever!
