Design
This is an interesting design. Nothing is the first company to create a transparent product, but they do offer a set of earbuds that sets them apart from the competition. Steamed earbuds are a dozen, and you can pick from various shapes and sizes, but in a world where imitation is the easy option, the clear stems are a unique flourish. Plus, the square charging case is largely transparent, and its curved corners and lightweight case allow you to view your earbuds through the top and bottom of the case.
Another thing to note is that the Nothing ear (1) case is slightly larger and, in fact, in shape. The 5.5cm x 5.5cm rounded square shape can make it trickier for those who hang the earbuds on the bottom of their gym bag and throw them in the trunk of their car. This design seems to tell users we need to attract everyone’s attention with our plan. The clever lighting technique allows the light reflected from the transparent shell of the earphone to guide the user to pay attention to the earphone handle in the upper right corner of the screen. We will pay attention to the only text information on the front package – printed in the earphone handle in dot matrix text. “NOTHING, ear.”
Sound Quality
The little buds have 11.6mm drivers inside, which is pretty big for something this small. They sound more premium than they are, but they’re not exactly game-changers. While these earbuds sound great, they don’t deliver great performance but provide rich audio with deep bass and lots of detail. We got a nice high-end plus decent bass, if not the punchiest. The overall sound quality is clear, and users can choose from 4 modes – Balanced, More Treble, More Bass, and Voice. Sadly, you can’t adjust the equalizer, which is fair in this price range. They also have active noise cancellation support. The ANC works well and doesn’t stuff your ears too much. The user can choose between two ANC modes.
Connectivity
Nothing ear (1) headset supports users to customize the headset through the ear (1) application. In the APP, the headset supports the control and customization of gestures such as single tap, double tap, and slide. Users can make control settings according to their own needs. The headset’s power is displayed in the application’s main interface, and on the left is the headset’s selection of listening mode and sound effects. There are two listening modes: transparency and noise reduction. The good impact provides 4 options: equalization, heavy bass, treble, and vocals.
Call Experience
Regarding call experience, Nothing ear (1) provides an ultra-high-definition call experience in daily use through the cooperation of six bilateral microphones and Clear Voice technology. It measures the external environment at 58dB. Ear (1) During a call, both parties involved in the ring can hear the other party’s voice.
Battery
In terms of battery life, the Nothing ear (1) has a single battery life of 5 hours and an extended battery life of 34 hours. It supports fast and wireless charging for 10 minutes of charging and listening to songs for 1 hour. The charging voltage is about 5.06V, the charging current is about 1.07A, and the charging power is about 5.41W.

Verdict
With an almost transparent design, the Nothing Ear (1) buds look slightly different, although they’re not as different as I expected. The app is well-organized and intuitive, and battery life is more than adequate for most people. They’ve packed a ton of extra features, decent sound, and effective noise-canceling tech for less than $100, making them a very convincing buy.
