In a blog post today, Google announced the introduction of fall detection for its Pixel Watch smartwatch. Motion sensors built into the watch can use machine learning to determine the severity of a fall and provide ways to deal with emergencies.
If the wearer doesn’t respond within 30 seconds after detecting a fall, the Pixel Watch will vibrate, sound an alarm, and display on-screen notifications to check if the user is okay.
The on-screen notification will ask wearers to tap ‘I’m OK’ or ‘I fell & need help’ depending on their situation. If you choose the latter, emergency services will be called for help.

If the user still hasn’t acted on the screen, the watch alarm goes off for one minute, getting louder each time. If there is no response, emergency services are automatically called.
