Google has rolled out the initial Beta release of Android Auto 10 to participants of its testing program without providing detailed release notes. According to auto evolution, this update primarily focuses on minor enhancements and improving software stability. The previous stable version, Android Auto 9.9, led users to anticipate version 9.10, but Google surprised them by directly releasing Android Auto 10 as the Beta version. This move suggests that Google has significant plans for future updates of Android Auto. The fundamental changes in this Beta version include improvements to the “Do Not Disturb” feature and the introduction of an independent “Night mode” setting for the user interface. Additionally, various bug fixes and improvements have been implemented.
Google has also announced a redesigned interface for Android Auto, adopting a card-style UI similar to Apple CarPlay. The new interface, named CoolWalk, focuses on intuitive interaction and enhanced navigation, aiming to provide a more intuitive and efficient experience when using music and phone functions. This redesigned interface is expected to be featured in upcoming Beta versions of Auto 10.
Foreign media speculates that considering the previous update pace of Android Auto, both the Beta version and the official release of Android Auto 10 will be available on the Google Play Store shortly. Users will also have the option to manually download the standalone APK to try out the Auto 10 Beta version.
