Android manufacturers, including Samsung and Xiaomi, allow users to set different live wallpapers for the main screen and the lock screen, a feature that Google’s Pixel phones still don’t have.
According to foreign tech media, digging into the Android 14 Developer Preview 2 code, Pixel tablets are the first to get this feature after the Android 14 update.
Developer Mishaal Rahman found code on Android 14 Developer Preview 2 that allows users to set up different live wallpapers for the main screen and the lock screen, IT Home has learned from reports. The developer also activated the code to show the enabled UI.
But the feature doesn’t work yet, and clicking a button on the UI still only allows the home screen and lock screen to use the same live wallpaper. Google may make this feature available in the official version of Android 14.
