Igeekphone, March 19 news, Google released Pixel 9A mobile phone today, which has been exposed many times before.
In terms of appearance design, the Pixel 9A rear camera does not have a bump, instead of a camera module flush with the back of the phone, which is similar to the Pixel 9 series of pill-shaped bumps, but no longer protruding from the back of the phone. This design not only makes the phone look more simple and stylish, but also doesn’t cause the phone to wobble when placed on the desktop due to camera bumps.
In terms of the screen, the Pixel 9A’s screen size has increased from 6.1 inches to 6.3 inches from the previous generation, but the overall height of the phone is only less than two millimeters higher than the Pixel 8A, and the weight is slightly reduced. In addition, the screen brightness has also been improved, with peak brightness up to 2700 nits, a significant improvement from the previous generation’s 2000 nits, while the screen resolution remains at 1080p and the refresh rate remains at 120Hz.
Camera configuration, Pixel 9A uses a 48-megapixel main camera, equipped with a 1/2-inch sensor, although the sensor size is slightly smaller than the Pixel 8A 1/1.73 inch, but it adds a macro mode, and still retains the 13-megapixel ultra-wide Angle camera. Although changes in sensor size may have some impact on image quality, the exact performance needs to be known by actual testing.
In terms of durability, the Pixel 9A’s protection rating has been upgraded from IP67 to IP68, which means it can withstand deeper immersion. At the same time, its battery capacity has also increased from 4492mAh to 5100mAh, supporting Qi wireless charging and up to 23W wired fast charging.
In addition, the Pixel 9A is powered by Google’s Tensor G4 processor and is equipped with Google’s Gemini and Google AI technologies, including Gemini Live functionality out of the box.
One of the biggest highlights of the Pixel 9A is its software support policy. Google’s promise to provide operating system upgrades and security support for up to seven years for this model is a huge guarantee for users, especially for those who don’t pay much attention to phone security updates, such as the elderly. The base Pixel 9A model comes with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, and costs $499. Users can also choose to upgrade to a version with 256GB of storage, which costs $599. The model is expected to go on sale in April, but the exact date has not yet been set.
