Igeekphone, August 16 news, technology media Android Authority yesterday (August 15) published a blog post, confirming that Google Pixel 9 series mobile phones use Samsung’s Exynos Modem 5400 modem.
Using the Device Info HW app, the outlet found that all four models of the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, and Pixel 9 Pro Fold are equipped with new Exynos 5400 modems.
The baseband portion is displayed as the “g5400c” part number, which corresponds to the Exynos Modem 5400, while the Google Pixel 7 Pro’s part number is “g5300q”, which corresponds to the earlier Exynos Modem 5300.
Compared to the Exynos Modem 5300 in the Pixel 7 and Pixel 8 series, the Exynos Modem 5400 in the Pixel 9 series is faster and more efficient, and also supports satellite connectivity.
The Exynos Modem 5400 is based on 3GPP Release 17 and offers speeds of up to 14.79 Gbps (5300 is 10 Gbps).
