Google Pixel 7 Pro offers three colors obsidian, snow, and hazel. It is open for pre-orders in Google stores in 17 countries and regions today and will be officially launched on October 13 (shipping), The 17 countries are the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Ireland, Netherlands, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Japan, Australia, Singapore, Taiwan, and India. In terms of display, Google Pixel 7 Pro is equipped with a 6.7-inch QHD+ resolution AMOLED screen with a refresh rate of 120Hz, using LTPO (low-temperature polysilicon oxide), which can reach 10Hz in certain scenarios; while the basic version of the screen is only 6.3 inches with a 90Hz refresh rate FHD+ resolution.
From a visual standpoint, the less pronounced curves around the edges of the display also help reduce the visual thickness of the bezels. Google says the screen’s peak brightness is 20 percent higher than its predecessor, which will help with viewing in bright environments. The OLED is covered with a Gorilla Glass Victus glass panel, the same material used on the Pixel 6 Pro.
In terms of imaging, Google has optimized the design of the Pixel 6 series “camera bar”. The polished anodized aluminum frame now houses the cameras and leaves a punch hole for the triple-lens configuration on the rear of the Pixel 7 Pro, and an IP68 water and dust rating has also been introduced to ensure adequate protection.
The Pro version is equipped with a 48MP telephoto lens (f/3.5) that supports 5x optical zoom, which is the only difference compared to the standard version. The series models feature a 50MP main camera (82° FOV, f/1.85), a 12MP (114°, f/2.2) ultra-wide-angle (the Pixel 7 Pro also supports autofocus), and an 11.1MP camera with 4K video recording Pixel (f/2.2) front camera.
In terms of features, the Pro version can also support macro mode with an ultra-wide-angle camera, as well as 30x high-resolution zoom and 8x high-resolution zoom. In addition, both phones support RealTone and Movie Motion Blur and other features.
The second-generation Tensor G2 has slightly improved performance over the previous generation. It is built on a 4nm process with a 2+2+4 cluster design, including a Tensor Processing Unit (TPU) for machine learning and a Titan M2 security co-processor.
According to reports, the chip is 60% faster than the previous model. Thanks to new machine learning capabilities, the Pixel is even better at voice commands, photography, and more.
In addition to Tensor G2, Pixel 7 Pro also uses LPDDR5 memory and UFS 3.1 storage. The basic version and Pixel 7 Pro are equipped with 4355 mAh and 5000 mAh batteries respectively, supporting 21W wired and 20W wireless charging, 23W wired fast charging, and 20W+ wireless charging respectively.
In other respects, the Pixel 7 series also has software-based face unlock, support for off-screen fingerprints, and IP68 waterproofing.
The new phone is pre-installed with the Android 13 system and comes with Material You and an upgrade of the dynamic color theme, which was launched in Android 12 last year. Improvements include a merged “Security and Privacy” menu that merges device and account settings. Other highlights include an improved photo selector, language controls for individual apps, and more.
Additionally, the Pixel 7 Pro is guaranteed to provide five years of security updates and will offer three OS upgrades.
