Google Pixel 6a had previously opened pre-orders on July 21 and will be officially launched on July 28. The price in Europe is 459 euros (about 3162.51 yuan) or 399 pounds (about 3231.9 yuan). Some Indian bloggers have already obtained the phone in advance but found that the phone has serious security problems, and even fingers without fingerprints can unlock the phone.
According to the test of Indian blogger Geekyranjit, only one of his two thumbs has a fingerprint registered, but both thumbs can unlock the phone. Later, he also tested the Nothing Phone (1) with the same conditions, but the fingerprint test of the Nothing Phone (1) result is normal.
Another blogger, Beebom, even found that after testing, multiple people without fingerprints can unlock his Google Pixel 6a, and the security of the phone is not guaranteed at all, but fortunately not all Google Pixel 6s have this problem, so this is most likely a hardware defect issue, which has not yet been answered by Google.
IT House learned that last year’s Google Pixel 6 also had a similar problem. The fingerprint recognition was very slow, and some users reported that his wife’s finger could unlock his phone without entering a fingerprint. Finally, it was found that the screen protector was unqualified. Yes, while this year’s Google Pixel 6a uses a different fingerprint sensor, it remains to be seen how widespread this potential security issue is.
The Google Pixel 6a features a 6.1-inch FullHD+ 60Hz OLED screen protected by Gorilla Glass 3. There is a punch hole in the center of the screen for the 8-megapixel selfie camera, which supports under-screen fingerprints. There is an LED flash and two cameras on the bar on the back of the fuselage: a 12.2-megapixel main camera and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera. Other highlights include a self-developed TenSor processor, stereo speakers, IP67 dust and water resistance, 5G connectivity, a built-in 4410mAh battery, and support for 18W charging.
