The new Google Pixel 4 will be revealed next October, so it’s time to start talking more about them. OnLeaks has published renders of what the Google Pixel 4 will look like. This is the smaller Pixel 4, where the Pixel 4 XL had already been leaked by the same OnLeaks. OnLeaks has more often brought out renders that are very close to the final device, this time in collaboration with iGeeksblog.
Firstly, the size of the regular Pixel 4. This is 147.0 x 68.9 x 8.2 mm, with the camera module being 9.3 mm. Compare this with the Pixel 4 XL which is 160.4 x 75.2 and 8.2 from the Pixel 4 XL and we are dealing with a considerably smaller phone. For comparison: last year’s Pixel 3 had the dimensions of 145.6 x 68.2 x 7.9 mm. Screen dimensions are not yet known.
What is also striking about the images is that the screen border at the bottom has become smaller compared to last year. Two front-facing speakers at the front are therefore unlikely.
Furthermore, we see relatively few differences with the Pixel 4 XL: the same shape of the screen, the same camera module, the same cameras on the front. We already know from the back that this is correct: Google has already confirmed this.
What is striking is a screen protector that has leaked from the Pixel 4 thanks to Ice Universe. Here we see the two holes on the left for the cameras, and on the right for another unknown sensor. This would be for face recognition, a rumor we encountered earlier for the Pixel 4.
At the top right, to the right of the earphone speaker, we see a large opening. This is reportedly for the Soli sensors. With the Soli sensors, hand and finger movements can be accurately detected to the nearest millimeter via radar waves. This could, for example, enable gestures without operating the screen.
Earlier rumors also mentioned the presence of Soli sensors and the above screen protector only feeds these rumors. In October we will probably definitively know if Soli is present until that time it will remain the biggest mystery of the Google Pixel 4.
