After the promotion of the huge outdoor digital billboard rental in Las Vegas, Google’s official Android Twitter account launched the #GetTheMessage campaign again.
Google tweeted: “Happy New Year, Apple! Your users should finally have a modern texting experience. Here’s our little #CES gift for you: codes to start upgrading to RCS!”
In the animation accompanying the tweet, it reads:
- Hey, Apple, I’m Android.
Google CES 2023 is a stage to showcase the latest technologies. I hope that by sharing the following codes, I can help you solve the problem of text message pixelation.
- Oh wait, so you’re still using SMS text messages.
Google launched a #GetTheMessage campaign back in August with a full site highlighting the benefits of RCS, including support for higher-resolution photos and videos, audio messages, and larger file sizes, as well as improved Encrypted, cross-platform emoji reactions and more reliable group chat across devices.
The full name of RCS is Rich Communication Services (Rich Communication Services), which is initiated by the GSM Association and aims to create a plan based on IP Multimedia Subsystem to further enrich operator communication services. RCS is marketed by members under the GSMA under the code name join. Key features of RCS include Enhanced Phonebook: Add contact information such as presence and service discovery.
