The Venu Sq features the Elevate 24/7 heart rate measurement system, which takes heart rate samples several times per second, 24 hours a day, for the most accurate measurement possible. In addition, onboard we also find a measurement called Pulse Ox2, which is responsible for measuring blood saturation and oxygen saturation.
For this, there are also functions of monitoring sleep, stress, alerts for too high or low heart rate, hydration, and menstrual cycle tracking. The user will therefore receive a practically complete set of functions that are to control his physical and mental health. The Body Battery option has also been added, i.e. monitoring the user’s energy level, which is to allow for better planning of training, sleep, or rest.
For those who like physical activity, 20 built-in programs have been prepared, including both external activities, such as running or swimming, and internal activities (e.g. yoga). In addition, there is an option to download from Garmin Connect already created (by users) training plans, which can be personalized later.
As for the other functions, Garmin Venu Sq offers, among others the ability to receive notifications from a paired smartphone, start navigation and pay for purchases (Garmin Pay), because it also has an NFC module on board. Garmin Venu Sq is equipped with a screen with a diameter of 1.3 inches and a resolution of 240 × 240 pixels. The display is made in LCD technology and is protected by 3rd generation Corning Gorilla Glass.
The battery in the smartwatch is to last up to 6 days in a normal use cycle or up to 14 hours with GPS turned on. The water-resistance of this model is 5 ATM. Onboard, we will also find full communication facilities in the form of NFC, GPS + GLONASS, and Bluetooth.
The manufacturer has prepared two versions of Garmin Venu Sq: basic and music, which will additionally allow you to download music to the smartwatch’s memory (e.g. from Spotify or Deezer) and listen to it via Bluetooth headphones without connecting to a smartphone.
The Garmin Venu Sq is available in a standard version for 199.99 euros ($233) and in a Music Edition version for 249.99 euros ($291). The standard model is available in lavender, gray and white, while the Music Edition is available in black, beige, blue, and green. Both can be purchased now on Amazon and at the official Garmin store.
