Right now most manufacturers compare their flagship smartphones with others in the aspect of appearance, hardware, camera, battery, features, price, etc. But rare brands start to compare in terms of SAR (Specific Absorption Rate). SAR is to measure the smartphones’ radiation values, for example, recently, Chinese CCTV show has reported Unqualified SAR of HTC, Smartisan and other smartphones.
By accident, a French media has made a test about radiation value about some most popular smartphones around the world. There are Samsung Galaxy S7, S7 Edge, iPhone 7/7 Plus, Huawei P9, Huawei Honor 8, Asus Zenfone 3, Moto Z, etc. According to the result, Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge has the lowest SAR, 0.264W/kg, then Asus Zenfone 3 has 0.278W/kg SAR as the second rank, Galaxy A5, Moto Z has 0.290W/kg and 0.304W/kg accordingly.
Apple iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus has got 下1.38W/kg and 1.24W/kg SAR, Huawei P9 and Huawei Honor 8 has 1.5 W/kg and 1.43W/kg SAR which got the last rank. Of course, we have to know SAR has different strict standard limits in different countries, or it can be accessed to network. American FCC standard is to lower than 1.6W/kg, but in Chinese TENAA, the standard is 2W/kg SAR. Therefore, those smartphones we listed are all safe.
