Young English company Fxtec decided to return to the production of smartphones in the long-forgotten side-slider form factor with a sliding QWERTY keyboard and introduced its new product – the Pro 1 smartphone, which also has the top stuffing, including the newest Qualcomm processor – Snapdragon 855.
According to the developers, when developing their product, they were inspired by the design of smartphones of the past – Nokia E7 and N950, which is actually reflected in Fxtec Pro 1, when the screen is unfolded 155 degrees in the unfolded position, and a 5-row button keyboard becomes available to the user special design providing high tactile feedback.
Fxtec Pro 1 promises to be very promising. First of all, it has sensible dimensions (154 x 73.6 x 14 mm), placing it on the level of a typical smartphone, e.g. the Huawei Mate 20 Pro – of course, in addition to the thickness. This is more than 5mm larger, but it’s still a good result considering the physical keyboard with 63 buttons. The keyboard looks very comfortable (spacing between the buttons) and opens in such a way that the screen is at an angle.
The screen is a 6-inch AMOLED with a resolution of 2160×1080 (FHD +) covered with curved glass Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Dual camera at the back: 12MP (Sony IMX363) f / 1.8 plus 5MP f / 2.0, single at the front: 8MP f / 2.0. As for current standards, you probably will not be crazy, but probably not also a tragedy.
Under the bonnet Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 MSM8998 (CPU octa-core Kryo 280 2.45GHz + GPU Adreno 540), 6GB RAM, 128GB memory (expandable to 2TB via microSD slot) and support all possible communication standards. The worst battery in this company is the battery, which has “only” 3200mAh. Depending on the region of sales, Fxtec Pro 1 will cost $649. Appearance on sale is expected in July of this year.
