Igeekphone August 5 news, Beijing time on the evening of August 2, Figure AI, supported by OpenAI and other companies, released a trailer for its new generation of humanoid robot Figure 02. It will be officially released on August 6, Eastern Time (corresponding to the afternoon of August 6 to the noon of August 7, Beijing time).
The trailer focuses on the robot’s hardware. It shows the joint and limb details of Figure 02. The finger movement is quite flexible, the joint motion can reach 195°, and the torque rating is as high as 150N · m. Brett Adcock, founder of Figure AI, claims that Figure 02 will be the most advanced humanoid robot on Earth.
The company demonstrated the skills and metrics of Figure 01 back in March. Standing 167.64 centimeters (5 feet 6 inches) tall and weighing 59.8 kilograms (132 pounds), Figure 01 can carry up to 20 kilograms (44 pounds) and move at a speed of 1.2 meters per second (about 2.7 miles per hour), Igeekphone previously reported.
The biggest highlight of Figure 01 is that using OpenAI’s large language model, you can have a normal, complete conversation with a human. Because the OpenAI model also supports multimodal input, it provides high-level visual and linguistic intelligence to Figure 01. Figure neural network can provide fast, low level, dexterous robot actions.
The video shows that Figure 01 can understand what is in the scene and react to the user’s voice (speech-to-speech reasoning). Comparing the two videos, Figure 02 is expected to focus on hardware or athleticism.
