Fairphone launched the Fairphone 4 in September 2021 and is expected to soon launch its successor, the Fairphone 5, whose exterior design was revealed in leaked images last month, and now the main configuration of the machine is also streamed through the Geekbench website.
According to the Geekbench page, the Fairphone 5 will run Android 13, with 8GB of RAM, and possibly other memory versions. In terms of processors, IT House noted that the Geekbench website shows its motherboard codenamed “lahaina”, which is presumed to be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 782G chip. This is a mid-range processor that supports 5G networks, and the performance has improved over the previous generation Fairphone 4.
In addition to the hardware configuration, the Fairphone 5’s exterior design also has some highlights. The phone has a perforated display, dual rear cameras, side fingerprint recognition, USB-C interface and so on. However, the machine does not retain the 3.5mm headphone jack.
At present, the Fairphone company has not announced the specific release time of the Fairphone 5, but from the information of the Geekbench website, it should not be too far away. Fairphone is a company dedicated to the production of sustainable, environmentally friendly smartphones, its mobile phones mainly repairable design, promised to provide 5 years of Android version updates, and up to 5 years of warranty, which is welcomed by many environmental activists.
