Following the launch of a mobile phone with a built-in 18,000mAh battery four years ago, Avenir Telecom has once again pushed the envelope by cramming a 28,000mAh battery into a smartphone.
Called the Hard Case P28K, the device, like its predecessor, will be sold under the Energizer brand (which Avenir Telecom licenses from battery manufacturers). The company claims that the P28K’s battery is enough for a week of regular use. Talk time is 122 hours (about five days) and standby time is 2,252 hours (nearly 94 days). The machine supports up to 33W fast charge, the official did not say how long it takes to fully charge. The device also has a robust protection rating of IP69.
However, the disadvantages of the phone are also obvious, that is, it is too “solid”. The Hard Case is that the P28K is 27.8mm thick and weighs 570g, which is more than three times the weight of the iPhone 15. So if you need a thin phone, this is clearly not for you.
If you use it as a normal smartphone, then its configuration can only be described as entry-level. It doesn’t support 5G, and the processor is a more common Mediatek MT6789, with 8GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, three rear cameras, Android 14, and a 6.78-inch 1080p LCD display.
The Energizer Hard Case P28K is scheduled to go on sale in October this year at a price of 249.99 euros (about 1,947 yuan) and will be sold worldwide except in the United States.
