Before the Lunar New Year, Huawei released the P50 Pro and P50 Pocket international versions for overseas markets. The main changes are the standard Snapdragon 888 4G chip and running the EMUI 12 system.
Since EMUI 12 is not released to domestic users, little is known to the outside world, and it was previously believed that it is based on Android customization.
However, Huawei’s German official account stated on social platforms that the latest flagship P50 Pro does not have Google’s GMS suite pre-installed, and at the same time, it runs Hongmeng OS.
This seems to mean that EMUI 12 is actually based on HarmonyOS, not Android. It is understood that the P50 Pro international version only announced the 8+256GB storage option, priced at 1199 euros (about 8706 yuan), which is considerably more expensive than the domestic one.
It is worth mentioning that the participants of the Huawei P50 project previously disclosed in the Xinsheng community that the P50 series has undergone three major plan adjustments before its launch, and it was once thought that it would never be able to meet the outside world.
