We probably know it already that eMeet OfficeCore M2 is a new smart conference speaker that – unlike the most popular models in the category – will also be very smart to make business meetings simpler and less stressful. In fact, this device can count on Artificial Intelligence and a VoiceN algorithm based on DNN (Deep Neural Network) that effectively eliminates background noise and echo to provide clear sound both in and out. And just like the domestic smart speakers, it will understand where the voice comes from and selectively activate one of the four microphones.
And it will show it: eMeet M2, in fact, has a “smart” circular LED indicator, so during a meeting, when someone speaks, the LED ring that embellishes the speaker will light up indicating the origin of the sound. So all the interlocutors will know if the question/answer has been correctly detected. And it will be the same LED to give information about the audio: when the microphone array is muted, the LED turns red immediately showing the “mute” status, when instead the volume is increased/decreased, the LED will turn blue with increasing intensity / descending. And simply by looking at the color of the LED, you will be able to find out how much autonomy remains:
- 100% battery (solid green LED)
- 75% battery (3 LEDs on)
- 50% battery (2 LEDs on)
- 25% battery (1 LED on)
- less than 20% (fixed red LED)
This device happens to the M1 model, improving some features and adding new ones. In addition to AI, eMeet OfficeCore M2 has a wider range , because it uses a high sensitivity MEMS digital microphone capable of capturing the voice up to 8-10 meters away, more than 300% more sound power, more effective noise cancellation of 200%, full-duplex calls and touch buttons (power, volume, microphone and call initiation) more responsive than 150%. In short, there is no comparison with the previous generation.
eMeet M2 also has USB inputs and 3.5 mm jack (-in and -out) to connect more powerful earphones and speakers, Bluetooth 4.2 (Qualcomm CSR8670) and a declared autonomy of 12 consecutive hours. Of course, it will also be compatible with multiple software and platforms: Skype, Avaya, Gizmo Project, Wechat, Google Gtalk and many others, as well as most digital assistants (Siri, Cortana or Google Now).
The eMeet OfficeCore M2 is also certified by various organizations such as CE, FCC, ROHS, Bluetooth BQB, IC, SRRC, C-tick and Battery certification: CB, UN38.3. Although slightly behind expectations, the Chinese company informs us that eMeet M2 will be available on Amazon from June 4 at a price of $209. In the coming months, a variant called eMeet OfficeCore M2 CE is also expected, which will also support multiparty conference calls.
