Elephone never seizes to amaze us, but being one of the top Chinese smartphone brand we expect nothing less. This time they’re back with yet another flagship smartphone, The Elephone Z1! It’s starting to become a common trend this days as almost all flagship smartphones now come with 6GB of RAM packaged with 64GB or more of internal storage. Elephone wasn’t left out as the Z1 also features a 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The device also sports a 5.5″ screen, Octa core chip set, SD slot and Android 7.0 Nougat.
Design
Elephone Z1 is a premium good-looking smartphone with slim bezel-less design. It has 5.5 inch FHD screen, and it also adopts the lumia waves on its back. It is powered by Helio P20 Octa core processor, RAM 6GB ROM 64GB internal storage, supporting E-touch fingerprint scanner, USB Type C port, built in 3,000mAh battery. It runs Android 6.0 OS, coming with 13MP main camera and NXP HD Audio Amplifier.
Hardware
Elephone decided to bring along with the Z1 a Mediatek Helio P20 SOC thus making the Z1 the first of the Elephone smartphones series to come with this chip set. The Helio P20 is an Octa Core chip set clocked at 2.3GHz, that’s pretty neat. The GPU is a Mali T880 MP2, as we all know Mali is one of the leading GPU vendors in the smartphone business. Equipped with the powerful chip set is a 6GB of RAM which the OEM claims can run 40 applications simultaneously. An internal storage of 64GB will be mostly enough to store anything thrown at the Z1. For those who like to store files externally, do not be afraid there’s an expandable micro SD slot which supports up to 128GB.
Display
The Elephone Z1 comes with a 5.5″ 1080×1920 IPS LCD screen display and it’s pixel per inch is 401. Personally, this isn’t quite good enough as a Quad HD display or an AMOLED would be better off than an IPS display for a flagship device.
Camera
At the rear of this smartphone you’ll find a 13 Mega Pixel camera with f/2.2 aperture and a LED flash. Videos are recorded in 1080p@30fps, still no 4K resolution support for s flagship??? Wow!!! The secondary Camera is an 8 Mega pixel camera which is nice for selfies.
Battery
A non-removable 3000maH Li-Po battery also comes with the Z1. Elephone hasn’t always been great when it comes to battery, this is another proof. But if you are the type that love power banks then this shouldn’t be a stumbling block for you not to get the device.
Conclusion
ElePhone Z1 can already be ordered on the official website (Elephone), he is now on preorder but has not yet entered the online stores offer. The price normally is 229.99 USD, but for a while this phone will sell at a price of 189.99 USD, this happens on the official website but I expect the offer to be valid for the rest of the online stores.
