The Chinese smartphone manufacturer, Elephone, is aiming to be available in the market with many different smartphone models. The competition in the smartphone industry has started to rise again. After a canceled Indiegogo campaign and the redesign that the phone went through, the Elephone PX pop-up camera phone is finally here and today the company kicked off the Giveaway campaign. The event will last a whole month and will end on October 30th so this time it’s hard to miss.
Let’s start with the front camera, clearly a pop-up camera just like U2, but this time only one sensor. The pop-up camera also means the phone will sport a full-screen design. There won’t be any notches, screen holes, and whatnot. A trendy design choice we ‘ve seen also on handsets from Samsung, HUAWEI, OPPO, Vivo and Xiaomi. ELEPHONE also talked about it being a more affordable device, so don’t expect any high-end hardware. Just solid entry to mid-level specs for a very good looking phone.
The Elephone PX has a total of three camera sensors. It uses a 16-megapixel dual camera with two LEDs and advanced brightness and noise control on the back. The front camera is hidden inside the smartphone. You have never seen such a front camera. The PX camera slides out of the top of the cell phone and thus takes up no valuable space on the screen. The smartphone can also be unlocked via face recognition. A safer alternative is the fingerprint sensor on the back.
As far as the full specs of the device are concerned, the mystery remains as the Chinese manufacturer hasn’t revealed much until today. The only specs we can confirm are those that are mentioned on the official page. So, the device will come with a 6.53″ display that covers the most part of the front panel. Of course, it comes with a pop-up camera and judging from the press photos, a dual rear camera will be available as well as a rear-placed fingerprint sensor.
