Today we bring a new model of the Asian Elephone brand. It is a very interesting mid-range mobile phone, the Elephone P11 3D. As its name suggests, the terminal is equipped with a screen capable of representing 3D content. The technology used is similar to that of the Elephone P8 3D, with eye tracking functions that adjust the image according to the position of the eye. This technology is integrated into the front camera. There is thus good comfort for the user’s eyes, even when the screen is slightly tilted. The P8 3D model can play movies and 3D images, which must also be true for the Elephone P11 3D. It would not be so ambitious to think that these devices could start a new generation of mobile … Now, the smartphone is part of a promotion where it costs just $169.99 from 29th April to 13th May, a much more reasonable price for the device. You can buy it at the Aliexpress and DX store right now.
The 3D screen is the main selling point of the device and I am happy to say that, even if we take that away, the screen seems pretty decent. It has a FullHD+ resolution with 1080×2160 pixels. It measures 6? in diagonal and does not have a notch or a hole in it. This is good news for people that hated this trend, but it does mean that the Elephone P11 has a more traditional look. Even so, the top and bottom chins are not that big, maybe similar to the Huawei P10.
Internally, the Elephone P11 is powered by the Helio X25 CPU and 4GB of RAM. This chipset has a deca-core configuration that has three clusters with a maximum frequency of 2.5GHz. Unlike the Helio P60 and P70 chipset, the X25 does not have the neural chip, so don’t expect any speed improvements for AI tasks. This is expected, considering the chipset was launched in 2016, prior to Mediatek announcing their take on AI chips. I would have gone for a more modern CPU here, but Elephone probably had to cut corners in order to lower the device price to $250. This is because the 3D screen probably costs more than a normal one.
If you buy the Elephone P11 you will get 64GB of internal storage, dual-4G connectivity, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth, A-GPS, and a 3200mAh battery. The device also comes with a front-mounted fingerprint reader. Photography wise, the Elephone P11 has a dual-camera setup on the back that has a 16MP main sensor and an unspecified second one. On the front, you will receive an 8MP camera. The smartphone sadly ships with an older version of Android, Android 8.0 to be more exact, and it will probably never see a major update.
Yes, this is not the most powerful smartphone on the market, but the $169.99 that it is currently being sold for is worth it, even though the Helio X25 chipset is a bit old. And, on the bright side, you will have something interesting to show your friends. If you like the device (I like the design to be honest, with that red stripe on the back), you can get it from the Aliexpress and DX store right now for $169.99 from 29th April to 13th May, while stock lasts.
