According to Egyptian media cairo24 reported on April 18, the Food Chamber of the Egyptian Federation of Industries has set standard norms for the sale of heated tobacco and electronic cigarettes.
The chairman of the department, Eng Ashraf El Gazairly, received a document sent by the engineer (Khaled Sofi), which revealed the specific content of the e-cigarette oil. According to the general requirements of Egyptian Standard No. 1-8205 on tobacco alternatives, the standards for importing and producing e-cigarette oil companies registered by the Egyptian General Directorate of Standards and Quality are set out.
According to the document, e-cigarettes are required to comply with Ministerial Order 101, 2019; According to Ministerial Order No. 502/2023, the Egyptian National Standard No. 2023/8685, which sets out the safety requirements for electronic devices used in e-cigarettes; According to Ministerial Order No. 498/2023, the Egyptian National Standard No. 2023/8724, which sets out the general requirements for places of display, sale and storage of tobacco alternatives.
In addition, all e-cigarette registration and the task of where these products are sold will be assigned to the aforementioned committee.
