The pharmaceutical company “Darnitsa” has created an online platform for accumulating official data about postcovid syndrome – various side effects experienced by people who have had a coronavirus infection.
According to the chairman of the Darnitsa Group board of directors Dmytro Shymkiv, the goal of the project is to collect all available information about postcovid syndrome and analyze it to make it accessible to citizens.
According to the National Institute for Health and Clinical Advancement, postcovid syndrome can occur in almost half of people who have had COVID-19. It means that certain symptoms are observed within three months after the disease, and in some cases even later.
These symptoms include shortness of breath and difficulties breathing (77% of those who have recovered), increased heart rate and chest pain (up to 67%), general fatigue, as well as unreasonable fear and anxiety (from 40% to 80%).
In addition to general information, the online platform provides a number of recommendations to help cope with the consequences of COVID-19, including advice on planning your day routine, breathing and relaxation techniques.
Shymkiv highlights that all recommendations are based solely on the results of international expert studies.
Darnitsa Medical Director Igor Nikiforchin agrees with Dmytro Shymkiv and elaborates that easy access to comprehensive and up-to-date information about COVID-19 and postcovid syndrome is a crucial prerequisite for successfully combating the pandemic and its negative consequences.
“We are the leaders of the pharmaceutical market in Ukraine, therefore, we undoubtedly cannot stand aside the most pressing issue in the healthcare sector. Taking care of doctors and patients is our mission,” emphasized Nikiforchin.
The pharmaceutical company “Darnitsa” was founded in 1930. The company’s portfolio includes more than 210 brands of medicines. The company has 14 GMP certified production lines. The products of “Darnitsa” are exported to 16 countries of the world. The beneficiaries of the company are the Zagoriy family.
