Recently DJI lifted the veil on a teasing video suggesting the enthronement of the Mavic Air 2 on April 27. And today it appeared in the ANATEL certification system, the Brazilian equivalent of the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC). This agency shared some photos and even the user manual of DJI Mavic Air 2, which includes several interesting data on speed, camera and much more.
The photos show what the new DJI Mavic Air 2 will look like, but we have seen the images before. What is more interesting is the specifications found in the documents. The upcoming drone will be able to reach speeds of up to 68.4 km/h, with a 34-minute flight time
48MP Camera
Another interesting detail concerns the camera: DJI used a 48MP image sensor. It can be assumed that it is used similar to modern sensors in smartphones created by the Quad Bayer method with Bayer filters for covering not individual pixels, but cells of four photosensitive elements. This allows you to shoot in good light at a resolution of 48MP (usually with a pixel size of 0.8 microns), and with insufficient lighting at 12MP (1.6 microns).
Also, the Quad Bayer method allows you to get a picture in the extended dynamic range at the hardware level. When half the pixels work with reduced sensitivity and a half with high. All this allows us to hope for an increase in the quality of both photos and videos compared to the original drone. In which the camera has a resolution of 12MP.
The manual mentioned a suspension with a three-axis mechanical stabilizer, support for shooting 4K video at 60 frames / s, 48MP photos, a collision-avoidance sensor, intelligent flight modes (for example, ActiveTrack 3.0, Point of Interest 3.0, QuickShot), advanced flight assistance systems 2.0. This makes it easier to get more professional results.
Controller
Another major improvement the DJI Mavic Air 2 will have over its predecessor is the controller’s range. According to the user manual, as a range of more than 8km. Thanks to the long-range transmission technology OCUSYNC 2.0. with 1080p transmission quality from the drone to the smartphone.
Data on the DJI Mavic Air 2 has already been leaked to the Network more than once – including the new controller, as well as some information about the battery(that will be 3500mAh) due to FCC certification. But now the photos allow you to get a more complete picture. And the guide – to learn about the impressive features of a folding mini-drone.
