DJI finally inaugurated the latest drone duo, “Mavic 2 Pro” and ” Mavic 2 Zoom “, after the leak had circulated last July. In terms of appearance, they are not much different from the first generation released two years ago. The update is more focused on camera specifications. The Mavic 2 Pro became the first drone to be integrated with Swedish class medium-format camera manufacturers, Hasselblad.
Hasselblad helped build a shooter on the Mavic 2 Pro camera that uses a 20MP quality 1-inch sensor. Additionally, Hasselblad also carrying a lens, photo optimization system, as well as implementing processing solutions for the natural color of raw images (raw). Other features include neat 4K quality recording for professional video creation. This premium series is priced at 9588 yuan (equal to $1392).
Meanwhile, the Mavic 2 Zoom uses a 1 / 2.3-inch sensor with 12MP quality. DJI claimed a series of drone folding (foldable) first has the capability of optical zoom 24-48mm. In addition, there is also a 2x digital zoom capability when recording 1080p video at a distance of 49mm to 96mm. For 4K recording, the frame rate is at 30fps.
The Mavic 2 Zoom features that add excitement, such as “Dolly Zoom” and “Super Resolution”. Dolly Zoom allows users to record objects that are zoomed while the drone is flying backward. Meanwhile, Super Resolution allows zooming to 48mm while shooting nine consecutive photos and combining them into 48MP quality landscape photos. Both the Mavic 2 Pro and the Mavic 2 Zoom feature Hyperlapse to create timelapse videos that are capable of being flown into the air. Everything can be controlled easily via smartphone. Both designs are actually similar, the weight is the same as supported by three authorized gimbal axes.
Although slightly larger than the previous generation, the Mavic 2 Pro and Mavic 2 Zoom claimed to be more dynamic with a more stable speed motor controller and not noisy. The latest Mavic duo is able to fly in the air for 31 minutes and its speed reaches 44mph. DJI complements both with the “ActiveTrack” system which automatically follows the shooting subject.
