MediaTek officially announced the running score of Dimensity 9000. Compared with Snapdragon 8 Gen1, which is stronger and weaker?
For comparison, AnTuTu officially announced the running scores of the 8GB+512GB Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 development prototype under the v 9.2.1 version, with a total score of 1031751, a CPU score of 229976, a GPU score of 453190, a MEM score of 177467, and a UX. Score 171118.
Due to the different versions, it is impossible to quantify the comparison. But overall it can be judged that the overall performance of Dimensity 9000 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 are at the same level, and each has its own advantages and disadvantages. Dimensity 9000 CPU performance is stronger, GPU is at a disadvantage.
In terms of GeekBench v5.1 running points, Dimensity 9000 single-core scored 1273 and multi-core scored 4324. Querying the CPU performance rankings of fast technology mobile phones shows that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 single-core score is 1226, and the multi-core score is 3847.
In other words, the single-core performance of Dimensity 9000 CPU is the same as that of Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, and the multi-core score leads by about 12%.
In vertical comparison, the single-core performance of Dimensity 9000 ranks first in the Android camp. Multi-core performance is also No. 1 in Android, second only to Apple A15 and second in all mobile phone chips.
In terms of GPU, Dimensity 9000 has also made great progress, far ahead of Apple A15, but not as good as Snapdragon 8 Gen1, so the total score is basically the same as A15, which is about 9% behind the Snapdragon 8 Gen1. Of course, these are just theoretical running points. The follow-up games, heat generation, power consumption, etc. still need more actual test verification.
From the point of view of core specifications, Dimensity 9000 adopts TSMC’s 4nm process and adopts a new generation of Armv9 architecture. The CPU has a built-in super core (Cortex-X2@3.05GHz), 3 large cores (Cortex-A710@2.85GHz), 4 energy-efficient cores (Cortex-A510@1.8GHz), 8MB L3 cache + 6MB SLC. In terms of GPU, Arm Mali-G710 ten-core is adopted.
Snapdragon 8 Gen1 is manufactured with Snapdragon 8 Gen1 using Samsung’s 4nm process, a new generation of ARM Cortex-X2, A710, A510 CPU core architecture, and a new generation of Adreno GPU graphics unit.
The CPU part is still a three-cluster architecture, including a Cortex-X2 core clocked at 3GHz, three Cortex-A710 cores clocked at 2.5GHz, and four Cortex-A510 cores clocked at 1.8GHz.
In terms of GPU, the official said it uses the next-generation Adreno architecture GPU. Judging from the situation identified by AnTuTu, its model is Adreno 730.
