The Chuwi MiniBook is the latest IndieGogo project from the Chinese manufacturer and is aimed at those who are looking for an even smaller and lighter form factor than classic 11-inch and 13-inch ultrabooks can offer. The MiniBook is already being crowdfunded on Indiegogo and until now, the amount raised has reached over $600,000 from 1037 backers with the numbers still growing.
Since the beginning of the campaign, many artists were disappointed by the lack of active stylus support and for that reason, Chuwi decided to bring 1024 levels of pressure sensitivity to MiniBook after the funds reach $650,000, which is only a matter of time. An active stylus allows you to draw thick and thin lines by adjusting how hard you press on the screen, which brings a whole new experience in the creation of painting or writing.
In addition to that, every backer will get a free actives stylus after the campaign reaches $800,000! This is extra from the nice and sturdy shock-proof EVA bag that MiniBook backers have the opportunity to get it for only $9.9, a 50% off. The special price is limited to 100 units. After that, the price will return to its original price.
The device’s screen features an 8-inch LCD touch panel with 1920 x 1200 resolution and a 16:10 widescreen ratio. Chuwi Minibook features two different processors: the first variant is equipped with an Intel Core M3 8100Y CPU with a 14nm process, 5W TDP with 2 cores and 4 threads, while the second variant features an Intel Celeron N4100 processor with 4 cores and 4 threads. We also find an integrated graphics card: Intel HD 615 for the M3 8100Y version and Intel Core 600 for the Celeron N4100 variant.
Both versions can count on an 8 GB LPDDR3 and LPDDR4 RAM memory and a 128 GB eMMC5.1 internal storage plus an additional SSD expansion slot. The device is designed and built to take advantage of all the available surface, increases the size of the keycaps and has been inserted an optical tactile sensor that has the function of a touchpad. The backlight also allows you to work comfortably even during the night or in low light conditions.
