The International Consumer Electronics Fair IFA will be held in Berlin, Germany on September 6th. As one of the world’s largest consumer electronics exhibitions, IFA brings thousands of products and visitors worldwide. CHUWI, one of the well-known tech brand from China, will show its latest laptops, tablets, and Mini PCs during this fair. For CHUWI, the 2019 IFA Electronics Show is not only an opportunity to promote its products in the international market, but also a platform to showcase its developments and achievements in the past years.
CHUWI MiniBook: A Ultra-Powerful UMPC
CHUWI MiniBook has just gained more than 3,000 backers at the crowdfunding platform- Indiegogo, and it will also show its muscle during the fair. This 8-inch laptop features YOGA form, Intel 8100Y processor, as well as 16G memory and 512G SSD storage, which is reportedly to be one of the most powerful UMPCs in the world.
Chuwi has brought two versions of the MiniBook. Both versions feature an 8-inch IPS touchscreen, which operates natively at 1,920 x 1,200. Chuwi claims that the display should reach a maximum brightness of 250 cd/m² lumens, which seems rather dim. The company will equip both models with a 26.6 Wh (7.6 V) battery, Windows 10 Home 64-bit and a 2.4 GHz/5 GHz Wi-Fi modem that supports up to the IEEE 802.11 n standard.
The MiniBook weighs 0.66 kg (~1.46 lbs) and measures 201 x 128.6 x 19.3 mm. Chuwi has incorporated a USB Type-C port, two USB Type-A ports, a headphone jack, a mini HDMI port, a microSD card reader and a fingerprint scanner integrated within the power button. Both models will come with 128 GB of eMMC flash storage too. Chuwi is positioning the MiniBook as a competitor to the MacBook Air and Surface Go, although we would not compare an ultra-mobile PC (UPMC) with no trackpad against an ultrabook and a detachable 2-in-1. At any rate, it would still make a more portable alternative to a conventional laptop while maintaining much of the same functionality.
CHUWI LapBook Plus: The Most Affordable 4K Laptop Ever
The traditional high-end 4K notebooks are priced at more than $ 1500, while CHUWI LapBook Plus is sold at less than 450 dollars, the cheapest ever! Except featuring a 15.6-inch 4K HDR screen with up to 340-nits of brightness, 100% sRGB color gamut, it is also packed with industrial-grade Intel X7 processor, 8GB LPDDR3 memory and 256GB SSD, specially built for video/audio enthusiasts.
The outstanding feature of Chuwi LapBook Plus will be its 15.6-inch screen with 4K resolution. With the 8bit IPS panel, 16.7 million true colors as well with 100% sRGB color gamut, Chuwi LapBook Plus will bring you a more realistic and colorful viewing experience than most laptops on the market utilizing 6-bit panel with 45% NTSC color gamut. Additionally, it also supports HDR image quality, which can dynamically balance the brightness and restore more details.
To offer a more reasonable price for Chuwi LapBook Plus, Apollo Lake 4-core 4-thread processor clocked at 2.0GHz has been chosen. HD Graphics 505 supporting 4K hard-decoding is also one of the important factors too. In terms of storage, knowing that people have a great demand on 4K video storage and fast read/write speed, Chuwi LapBook Plus is equipped with 256GB SSD in addition to an M.2 SSD expansion slot which can be upgraded to terabytes of storage.
CHUWI’s IFA booth is located at Hall 161, Hall 11-1, Berlin Exhibition Centre and will be open to visitors from August 6th to 11th. More information, please check the official website…
