The Chinese manufacturer Chuwi today presented the HiPad Plus, a new 11-inch tablet that comes with a 2k display and a processor from MediaTek. The tablet has a 2k resolution, and it is gifted with a Mediatek MT8183 octa-core processor.
Design
Inside a chassis built from a single piece of alloy aluminum CNC; which weighs only 500 grams and measures 6.9 mm thick; The Chuwi HiPad Plus is before an 11-inch tablet that offers an IPS panel in 2176 x 1600 pixels, or 245 dots per inch of pixel density. A screen that also stands out for its configuration in 4: 3 and not in 16: 9. A choice that will offer comfort in reading documents as in surfing without preventing multimedia uses such as video reading or gaming. The shell measures 24.83 cm high and 17.95 cm wide for 6.9 mm thick, quite compact dimensions linked to this choice of screen format and fairly thin screen borders. The body of the tablet is completely made of aluminum to add strength to the whole and maintain a correct weight for an 11″ with 505 grams.

Hardware
Chuwi HiPad Plus integrates a balanced hardware platform in terms of consumption and performance; with an SoC MediaTek MT8183 eight-core (Cortex A73 / A53) as the main engine. It includes integrated Mali-G72 graphics and is accompanied by 4 GB of LPDDR4 RAM and 128 GB of eMMC 5.1 storage, expandable via SD cards. The network module is integrated into the Mediatek SoC and offers classic Wifi5 associated with Bluetooth 4.2. Not the most recent references on the market, therefore, but once again sufficient for standard tablet use. No integrated GPS on the other hand, nor 3 or 4G. The only other wave management that the Chuwi HiPad Plus will offer will be the support of an FM tuner.
Features
Webcams are also classic with a 5-megapixel front module and a second module on the back of the tablet; which climbs to 13 megapixels with a small LED flash. No mention of autofocus for both units. The connection is limited to a USB 2.0 Type-C port; which will be used as much to recharge the Chuwi HiPad Plus as to transmit data. No integrated jack port, a choice probably linked; to the design and the search for a very thin machine but which may discourage some users. The use of a Bluetooth headset will obviously be the solution; if you want to watch a movie or listen to music solo. The built-in 1-watt stereo speakers are generally neither exceptional nor pleasant in a shared place.
Conclusion
With Android 10 pre-installed, this Chuwi HiPad Plus tablet has an official price of $271.99 and is on sale at Aliexpress. Chuwi has prepared a special launch promotion on his web page and until February 21 offers discount codes that lower the price of the tablet by just over 250 USD.
