AI is running too fast these days!
Foreign bigwigs are quarrelling over an “AI non-proliferation treaty”. On the domestic side, B Station, iQiyi and other Internet enterprises also made a big talk about AIGC in Chengdu Audiovisual Conference. Among them, Chen Rui also introduced the AIGC content of B station at the scene.
Chen Rui mentioned that with the advent of the AIGC era, each of us is in a new era of accelerated changes in science and technology:
With young people’s demand for content related to AI technology increasing rapidly, more and more UP users are producing various ChatGPt and AIGC-related content. So far, ChatGPt-related content on B has reached 200 million views.
Chen Rui predicted that the advent of AIGC era is not only an innovation in the field of science and technology, but also has a subversive impact on the entire Internet industry and even the whole society.
In the age of ChatGPT and other explosive AI technologies, Chen Rui’s judgment is not unfounded.
Midjourney, an AI painting artifact that made its debut recently with “a couple sitting on a roof in China in the 1990s,” is not too popular.
The influx of new users overwhelmed servers, forcing officials to call off the free trial.
At the same time, all kinds of amazing AI paintings emerge one after another
There are Musk who travels to a Soviet factory, a schoolgirl who reads begonia, and a Chinese version of Hepburn. (Swipe left and right to view)
Here’s a prompt to try
A Chinese 20-year-old Woman, looking like Audrey Hepburn, Black hair, standing on 2023 Tokyo street, hyper realistic portrait photography, pale skin, dress, wide shot, natural lighting, kodak portra 800, 105mm f1.8, 32k –ar 16:9 –v 5 –s 750 –q 2
Moreover, such an impressive V5 has only just been launched, and even more impressive V6, V7 and V8 are said to be on their way.
AI disrupts video creation
At the Chengdu Audiovisual Conference, Chen Rui mentioned that the development of AIGC will greatly improve the efficiency of content creators. Just like the emergence of mobile phone cameras in 2000, allowing ordinary people to shoot at will, the emergence of AIGC will also enable many ordinary people to create content that only professionals could create in the past.
Some time ago, a foreign brother tried to create a video entirely led by AI. This video from the script, to the director, screenwriter, photography, music work, AI completely complete.
In addition, this video is completely made with the mainstream AI tools, and the little guy is actually an AI tool man (by the way). In other words, we can now fully manipulate the AI to create videos, just like he did.
The script was written by ChatGPT, the graphics were generated by Midjourney, then Runway Gen-1 was used to apply the graphics style to the source video, and finally, the music was scored by Boomy AI.
First, say to ChatGPT, “Write me a script that generates a nine-second video made up of three three-second clips. The story is about a man in his living room, and it’s going to be science fiction themed.”
ChatGPT generates the following script.
The second step is to make reference images in the Midjourney according to the script.
prompt is “imagine sci-fi film still, medium shot, centered, side-angle view, a man sitting on a chair, holding a glowing orb in his hands, living room, new york, 4k –ar 16:9 “(Think science fiction film still, medium, center, side Angle view, a man sitting in a chair, holding a glowing orb in his hands, The Living Room, New York, 4k — -AR 16:9).
In the third step, the guy rearranges some furniture in the living room to better match the reference image for a clearer output.
Then, using an iPhone, he shot the raw footage.
Fourth, he uploads the video and reference images to Gen-1, which instantly transforms the video into a reference image style.
In this step, I didn’t use a text prompt, but added –interpolate as an argument to the smoother output.
The fifth step is to import the video into the video editor.
He used iMovie. After importing the video, I trimmed some of the pieces and connected them together.
Step 6: Boomy generates a soundtrack based on the style and mood he wants.
He chose a song called “Trippy Harvester by Peaky Chicky”, which matched the mood of the scene perfectly.
Finally, add music and export it.
Luckily, there wasn’t a lot of editing required, because the video and the music fit perfectly.
In this way, after 3 hours, a fantasy film was born!
AI will do the physical work, and I will do the imagination
Coincidentally, Mega, the host of B station UP in China, also brought Jobs back to life through several AI tools.
After visiting Jobs’s former home, Mega had the idea to generate a video of himself interviewing Jobs.
Jobs’s “brain,” of course, came from ChatGPT. Because it’s been trained with 175 billion parameters, it’s perfectly capable of talking in the style of its character.
It can be imagined that in this case, knowledge payment will be a big business opportunity spawned by mobile Internet.
In just a few months, we’ve seen light-speed iterations of AIGC products, and it’s easier than ever to become a “knowledge intermediary.”
With the development of AIGC technology, making a video may not be much more difficult than writing an article. Content creators only need to come up with core ideas, and the rest can be automatically generated by AI, which will greatly reduce the difficulty of video production.
The number of individual creators is also likely to see rapid growth.
In particular, it may be the creators such as the knowledge type UP master of B station. After all, you save time cutting videos, you save time finding materials. As long as there is a core creative point, making a good video is not a problem.
By then, the creative potential of quality creators will have been fully tapped, and video will become absolutely mainstream content.
For the creators, this is not some far-fetched prophecy, but the near future within reach.
This is also why ChatGPT related content on B site has exploded in recent months, and many UP hosts have directly started to try to make videos with AI.
It may not be long before we see more and more indie creators. They don’t have to choose the heavy industry mode of team creation any more, but one or two main creators + AI can work lightly and create with 10 or 20 times higher efficiency than in the past, and express the content that they are not able to make into videos freely.
It can be imagined that with the prosperity of AIGC, the development of knowledge-based video platforms will usher in a rising tide.
So, in the near future, who will be replaced by AI, and who will be overtaking corners?
