Today, BlackBerry has launched two new Android devices that will be available for now only in the Indian market since September. Evolve and Evolve X are presented as the “safest Android smartphones ever”, thanks to the implementation of various security technologies and privacy protection (DTEK security, BlackBerry Hub, BlackBerry Password Keeper, BlackBerry Privacy Shade).
The BlackBerry Evolve and Evolve X stand out, among other things, for having a large screen with 18: 9 format and reduced frames, for supporting wireless charging and for including a facial unlocking system. Below, we see all the features, specifications and prices of this Canadian phone duo – yes, made in China.
Aesthetically, the two terminals bear some resemblance to the BlackBerry Key2 presented only a couple of months ago. Both phones have a fairly square appearance, with marked corners and a rear covered with a gummy material, which in addition to improving the ergonomics of the phone, enables support for wireless charging through the Qi standard.
On the front of the two variants, we find a 5.99-inch screen covered by Gorilla Glass 5 Curved Glass -2.5D-, with a Full HD + resolution, 18: 9 format and LCD technology. To give life to the phones is responsible for a Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 processor with 4GB of RAM in the case of Evolve, and a Snapdragon 660 with eight-core Kryo 260 processor, Adreno 512 graphics unit, 6GB of RAM in the variant with last name “X”. Both smartphones feature 64GB of internal memory,
One of the strengths of smartphones is, without a doubt, its large 4,000mAh battery. In both cases, it is accompanied by Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 technology, and it will be possible to recharge the devices through a wireless charging base.
At the photographic level, the model of reduced performance mounts a dual rear system of 13MP + 13MP, the first being an RGB sensor, and the second one monochrome. For its part, the Evolve X incorporates two cameras of 12MP + 13MP with portrait mode and capable of recording video up to 4K. Meanwhile, on the front of the two models appears a single sensor of 16MP, which in addition to capture self-portraits will unlock smartphones through the face.
As for the software that gives life to the phones, Android 8.1 Oreo is the version chosen by BlackBerry, and of course equipped with the different add-ons and safety and productivity tools that, according to the brand, make this pair of terminals two of the more secure in the market.
We still do not know if the models will be marketed in other markets outside India, but for now, the manufacturer announced the duo of intermediaries only there. Both smartphones Evolve and Evolve X will be available from the end of the month for pre-order exclusively through Amazon India respectively at about $365 (for Evolve) and about $510 (for Evolve X) with the first deliveries scheduled for mid-September.
