Black Shark 2 Pro will debut on July 30 with the new Snapdragon 855 Plus chipset, which Qualcomm has developed with the mindset on segments like the game of mobility. black shark founder and CEO Wu Shimin said that the black shark’s first 5G mobile phone has already made a prototype, is in the debugging stage, will be officially released in the first half of next year.
The Black Shark 2 equipped with the Snapdragon 855 processor was released on March 18 this year. Less than five months after, the Black Shark 2 Pro is coming. Wu Shimin said that the reason for the black shark 2 Pro to be released in advance is to keep up with the upgrade of the Qualcomm processor. This also confirms that the Black Shark 2 Pro will be equipped with the Snapdragon 855 Plus processor.
Compared to the Snapdragon 855 processor, the Snapdragon 855 Plus CPU core (Kryo 485 CPU) clock speed increased from 2.84GHz to 2.96Ghz, Adreno 640 GPU performance increased by 15%. The newly announced chipset comes with an increase in CPU and GPU performance, 5G, gaming, AI and XR. There’s no fingerprint sensor on the rear, which means Asus is opting for an in-display fingerprint sensor this time around. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor with up to 12GB RAM. However, the leaked model of the Black Shark 2 Pro, (black shark DLT-A0) boasts a 12GB RAM which may be standard for Black Shark 2 Pro. For the front, the phone features a 20-megapixel selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture.
Black Shark 2 Pro has passed through Geekbench, scoring 3,632 and 11,304 points in the benchmark’s single and multi-core tests respectively. As per Qualcomm, the new Snapdragon 855 Plus is tailored for gaming, Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality, and machine learning. So essentially all OEMs that have so far confirming adopting the SoC is looking to do so in their gaming-focused offerings. The chipset has been overclocked by 4% to 2.96GHz from 2.84GHz.
Currently, we only know Black Shark 2 Pro will be powered by Snapdragon 855 plus processor, and it should be the upgraded version of Black Shark 2. Stay tuned for more news.
