For beginners in e-cigarettes, there are always some things they don’t understand about the industry. If you’re already in the game, here are five things that beginners can learn about e-cigarettes:
1. You may cough the first time you use an e-cigarette
A survey of 600 e-cigarette users found that 57 percent had a cough the first time they smoked an e-cigarette, but it was usually temporary and 93 percent said they had stopped coughing.
Coughing while vaping can happen for a variety of reasons, from allergies to propylene glycol (PG) to improper use of the device.
Since many people cough when they quit smoking, coughing may not be related to vaping.
2. Oral suction equipment and lung suction equipment
E-cigarettes are also divided into oral and pulmonary devices.
It’s important to distinguish between the two, and that means there’s a difference in how you vaped. Single-use e-cigarettes, cigarette-like and pen-like e-cigarettes, for example, are usually puffed by holding the smoke in your mouth before inhaling, which is similar to smoking, so they are more popular among vapers.
Devices like the regulator vaporize large amounts of smoke, which is better suited to be inhaled directly into the lungs.
3. Select VG/PG
Vegetable glycerin (VG) and propylene glycol (PG) are the two main components of most tobacco oils. Every bottle has a PG to VG ratio, which affects the concentration and flavor of the liquid.
Vg-heavy liquids take longer to heat, usually require a pressure regulator, and contain less nicotine. The higher PG content of tobacco oil has greater laryngeal sensation.
4. Choose your nicotine concentration
In addition to taste, nicotine concentration can also be one of the key factors in choosing a nicotine oil.
Nicotine concentration refers to the amount of nicotine per milliliter of the liquid. Depending on how much you smoke, choose your nicotine concentration.
Light smokers should try 3mg/ml (there are 3mg of nicotine per milliliter), while slightly heavier smokers may want to try 5mg/ml.
5. Pay attention to indoor vaping
E-cigarettes and other tobacco alternatives may be banned in closed public places such as airports and subways, as a number of Chinese cities have included them in tobacco control. Therefore, e-cigarettes are not allowed to be used in cities where they are included in tobacco control. Please note this!
