Asus will reportedly launch the Zenfone 8 series in three sizes, according to the latest rumors. The smallest device in the series is the Asus Zenfone 8 Mini which measures 5.9 inches and is now seen on the Geekbench benchmark platform to reveal some of its key specifications.
The unit tested in the Geekbench 5 uses the reference Asus_I006D and will, it seems, be the Asus ZenFone 8 Mini. The test reveals that this smartphone is equipped with the Snapdragon 888, Qualcomm’s high-end processor. In the report, the SoC is called “lahaina” and has a base frequency of 1.80GHz. This phone comes up with a score of 1123 points for single-core and 3681 points for multi-core tests.
The test also reveals that the tested unit has an impressive 16GB of RAM, something that is more common in smartphones dedicated to gaming or in the Pro / Ultra variants of each high-end line. Finally, confirm that the Asus ZenFone 8 Mini will hit the market with Android 11.
As for other specifications, some sources believe that this smartphone will come with two rear cameras, the main one being a 64MP Sony IMX686 sensor, while the second one will be another Sony sensor, this time the new IMX683. The ZenFone 8 line should arrive with OLED Full HD + screens, with a refresh rate of 120Hz, and these features should be included in the small Asus ZenFone 8 Mini.
As for the remaining two high-end models from Asus, it will almost certainly be launched a “Pro” model, but also the ZenFone 8 Flip, whose rumors claim to be the only one to again include the rotary mechanism for the cameras that Asus used in the last two generations ZenFone.
