After yesterday’s ROG announcements, obviously dedicated to gamers, Asus has just presented one of the most exciting ultrabooks at the CES. In detail, the new solutions of the Zenbook line take the name of Asus Zenbook 14 OLED which offers a high-quality display, a stylish aluminum housing, and a powerful processor at an attractive price.
The new Asus Zenbook 14 OLED is characterized by a design that is still quite recognizable and which obviously recalls the stylistic canons typical of the Zenbook line. Clean lines, geometric designs on the body, precious materials, and matt finishes with a satin effect contribute to making these solutions even more premium from an aesthetic point of view.
But let’s talk about hardware and let’s start immediately by specifying that CPU apart from the different versions of the notebook share exactly the same elements. Starting with the display which is a 1 4-inch diagonal panel with very thin bezels that lead to a screen-to-size ratio of 90%. The aspect ratio is 16:10 while the resolution is 2880×1800 pixels. All panels are Pantone and Vesa Display HDR 500 certified, as well as offering full coverage of the DCI P3 color space.
Under the body, we then have up to 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM, PCIe 4.0 SSD up to 1TB of capacity, and a 75Wh battery. To change, obviously depending on the model, is the processor. In the case of the Intel versions, we will have an Intel Core i7-1260P available, while for the AMD SKUs the CPU will be a Ryzen 7 5825U.
For all versions of Asus Zenbook 14 OLED, some elements typical of Zenbook solutions of the past are then taken up. We refer in particular to the ErgoLift hinges and the Number Pad 2.0, or the numeric keypad inserted transparently inside the touchpad.
The port equipment is very good, despite the 16.9 mm thickness. On the right side of the body, we find an HDMI 2.0, audio jack, microSD slot, and two USB-C, one of which with support for Thunderbolt 4 technology. On the left side, we find the grilles for the hot air vent and just above a USB -A 3.2 Gen2.
There are three colors available that also help us to distinguish the different versions of the notebook. The first two, namely the Aqua Celadon and the Ponder Blue are those intended for models equipped with Intel processors, while the Jade Black color is the one reserved for the AMD model.
The new Asus Zenbook 14 OLED notebook will be available in the second quarter of 2022, with a starting price of 999 Euros (approximately $1128.78).
