Qualcomm has just introduced its latest high-end System-on-Chip (SoC) called Snapdragon 855 Plus. The chip, which is nothing more than a speeding version of the Snapdragon 855. Today, Asus said its Rog Phone 2 gaming smartphone would be equipped with Qualcomm’s new high-end SoC.
This is the first brand to announce that one of its devices would be entitled. As a reminder, the ROG Phone 2 will be presented on July 23, 2019, at which time the manufacturer will provide us with its complete technical datasheet.
For now, we know for sure that the Asus Rog Phone 2 will benefit from a 120 Hz screen (against 90Hz for its predecessor), promising unrivaled fluidity on a smartphone. One can expect, as for the first model, to large amounts of RAM and storage space, excellent audio quality, as well as accessories designed for the video game experience. Hopefully, it will do better in terms of autonomy.
The integration of a Snapdragon 855 Plus SoC is interesting because it promises 4.2% faster performance compared to the Snapdragon 855 thanks to its overclocked Kryo 485 CPU up to 2.96 GHz, against 2,84 GHz previously. In addition, the Adreno 640 GPU is up to 15% higher on this new system-on-a-chip.
Suffice to say that at its release, the Asus Rog Phone 2 should explode scores on different benchmarks if everything is well optimized. And we can not wait to see what that will give smartphone in hand in terms of user experience.
