According to Mark Gurman, Apple plans to release the iPad mini 7 later this year.
In response to the “jelly screen” problem existing in the previous generation of iPad mini 6, Apple will optimize the iPad mini 7. To address this issue, Apple changed the orientation of the iPad mini 7’s screen assembly. Still, the iPad mini 7’s screen has a refresh rate of 60Hz and uses an LCD material.
The so-called “jelly screen” phenomenon refers to the screen tearing, in the portrait state, when the user swipes the screen up and down with his finger, the refresh rate on both sides of the screen is inconsistent, resulting in the screen content shaking like jelly.
Specifically on the iPad, when you swipe your finger across the screen of the iPad mini 6, the screen will display content in a wavy manner, and the sense of fragmentation is very obvious.
The iPad mini 6 is the subject of a class-action lawsuit in the US over its jelly screen, with complainers claiming dizziness, nausea and other symptoms when using the device.
In addition, the iPad mini 7 will also be equipped with Apple’s A16 chip and support for new features such as Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3.
