At the beginning of Apple’s autumn new product launch, the new Apple Watch debuted first, and this time there are three new products, let’s look at Apple Watch Series 8 first.
The appearance of the Apple Watch 8 continues the previous generation’s design, with a larger screen, extremely narrow frame, and support for swimming, waterproof, dustproof, and anti-drop. A new temperature sensor has been added inside, one close to the skin and one below the screen, focusing on serving women’s health, especially ovulation detection. They can continuously detect body temperature at night with a frequency of 5 seconds and an accuracy of 0.1 °C, generate a biphasic body temperature curve, and automatically estimate the ovulation period.
At the same time, privacy is strictly protected, and data is encrypted end-to-end, which can only be accessed by individual users who can also choose to share data types. Another important new function is car accident detection. Based on the big data of car accident instances, it can be instantly detected by multiple sensors such as motion and air pressure at the moment of the car accident, and the emergency hotline can be called in time. Support cars, SUVs, pickups, and other models, support front, side, rear-end, rollover, and different scenarios.
In terms of battery life, Apple Watch 8 can normally be used for up to 18 hours and supports low-power mode. While retaining core functions such as activity tracking, fall detection, Fitness+, and emergency contact, some non-essential functions are turned off, and the battery life is doubled to 36 Hours.
In addition, Apple Watch 8 supports global roaming, and more than 30 operators will join by the end of the year, including China Mobile in Hong Kong, China, Chunghwa Telecom in Taiwan, China, etc.
Of course, the color matching of the new body and strap is indispensable. Two materials are available, including four colors of midnight, starlight, silver, and red for the aluminum model and three shades of silver, gold, and graphite for the stainless steel model.
The Apple Watch 8 is priced at $399 for the GPS version and $499 for the cellular version. Pre-orders can be opened, and they will be available on September 16.
