iGEEKPHONE news on June 19, industry insider Ross Young revealed that the M4 MacBook Pro will debut at the end of 2024, and the supply chain will ship MacBook Pro panels in the third quarter of 2024, with 14 inch and 16 inch sizes.
It is reported that the 14-inch MacBook Pro is equipped with M4 chip, and the 16-inch MacBook Pro is equipped with M4 Pro and M4 Max chip.
At present, the M4 chip has been mass-produced for commercial use, and is first installed by the iPad Pro 2024. This chip is based on TSMC’s 3nm process and integrates 28 billion transistors.
From the CPU point of view, the chip has 10 cores, namely 4 performance cores for providing single-threaded performance and responsiveness and 6 efficiency cores for providing multi-threaded performance and energy efficiency, compared to the M2, M4 CPU performance has increased by 1.5 times.
In terms of Gpus, the M4 chip has a new 10-core GPU, and because it uses Apple’s dynamic caching function, it can dynamically allocate local memory in real time in the hardware, which greatly improves the performance of professional and gaming applications.
It is worth noting that the higher-level M4 Pro and M4 Max have not yet appeared, and Apple will be applied to the higher-end MacBook Pro series, which is worth looking forward to.
