There have been reports that Apple will upgrade the memory of the iPhone 15, compared to the previous generation of storage capacity, speed is improved.
TrendForce’s report suggests that the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max will get an upgrade in memory specifications this year, from 6GB to 8GB, and purchase faster memory for this year’s models (from the LPDDR5 to the LPDDR5X).
As for the rest of the iPhone 15, it’s still 6GB.
It’s clear that Apple is widening the gap between cheaper and more expensive iphones, something similar to the one above has been done before, while adding more memory allows more apps to be opened in the background at the same time, which facilitates multitasking on the iPhone.
Apple first upgraded to LPDDR5 memory technology on the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, while keeping the LPDDR4X on the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus. However, all four models offer 6GB of RAM.
