9to5mac managed to get its hands on a 3D CAD file for the iPhone 15 and created a rendering based on that file that reveals some of the design changes and features Apple is bringing to its next smartphone.
Images show that one of the most obvious changes to the standard iPhone 15 model is that it will ditch the bangs in favor of Smart Island. So if nothing else, the entire iPhone 15 will feature the Smart Island design.
Another change found in the CAD file is that the iPhone 15 will use USB-Type C as its charging port, which is also expected, after all, Apple has to comply with the laws of the European Union, and USB-C is more universal and more compatible than Lightning. It also supports faster charging and data transfer speeds than the Lightning.
In addition, the standard iPhone 15 still appears to have dual cameras on the back, so it seems that the third camera and the LiDAR will remain the preserve of the Pro.
The CAD documents also show that the iPhone 15’s new display will measure 6.2 inches, slightly larger than the iPhone 14’s 6.1 inches. The resolution and refresh rate of the display is not yet known, but it is expected to be the same as the iPhone 14’s.
Some of this year’s new iphones have been rumored to have capacitive buttons, but this time the CAD files show that the iPhone 15 still has physical buttons, so it appears that only the iPhone 15 Pro models have capacitive buttons.

Of course, these documents are not final and could change before their official release later this year.
