After announcing that iOS 16 will be officially released next week to all users, Apple has released the iOS 16 RC version to developers and testers. The new update comes just a week after the operating system’s eighth beta was released.
Registered developers can now download profiles for iOS 16 RC from the Apple Developer Center. Once the profile is installed, beta updates will be available to update via OTA.
Apple did not share any information in the release notes of the iOS 16 RC update. It is highly likely that this is an update “Apple” focused on improving the user interface and fixing the outstanding bugs of the previous beta versions.
It is known that iOS 16 is a relatively large new update that focuses a lot on privacy and improves many features. Some notable new features of this operating system include an improved lock screen with high customization capabilities, allowing the use of multiple widgets to view information quickly. iMessages, focus mode, Apple News, Apple Maps, and voice-to-text features also get many upgrades.
In terms of support, iOS 16 is only compatible with iPhone 8 and newer models. Apple discontinued support for many older iPhones with this release, including the iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, and iPhone SE 2016.
