Igeekphone August 8 news, Apple released iOS 17.6.1 update (internal version number: 21G93) early this morning, only 9 days from the last release of the official version.
This time it was primarily a bug fix, addressing an issue where advanced data protection features could not be enabled or disabled.
It is reported that when users tried to turn off the feature, although the interface showed that it was turned off, it was still enabled on iCloud, and this update fixes the issue.
Apple’s official website describes iCloud advanced data protection as follows:
iCloud Advanced Data Protection provides our highest level of cloud data security and uses end-to-end encryption to protect most of your iCloud data.
iCloud Advanced Data Protection is an optional setting that provides Apple’s highest level of cloud data security.
If you choose to enable Advanced Data Protection, most of your iCloud data – including iCloud cloud backups, photos, memos, and more – will be protected by end-to-end encryption.
No one else, not even Apple, has access to your end-to-end encrypted data, and it’s safe even if there’s a data breach in the cloud.
