In addition to iOS 16 and Watch OS 9, Apple tonight also announced the M2 processor and a new MacBook. The slim MacBook Air finally got a major upgrade, with a 13.6-inch fringe screen. The MagSafe charging port is also back, starting at $1,199.
The 2022 MacBook Air comes in four colors: silver, deep space gray, gold, and dark blue. It’s only 11.3mm thick, weighs 2.7 pounds, and has a 20% reduction in size.
About its screen, the 2022 MacBook Air has a 13.6-inch screen with top notch, 500nit brightness, narrower bezels, an upgraded 1080p front-facing camera, Touch ID support, and four speakers.
In terms of hardware, the 2022 MacBook Air will have a naturally upgraded M2 processor, up to 8-core CPU and 10-core GPU, up to 24GB of RAM and 2TB of hard disk.
MagSafe is also back for the 2022 MacBook Air, which supports up to 67W of fast charging, 18 hours of battery life and 50% charge in half an hour.
Finally, there’s the price. The 2022 MacBook Air starts at $1,199, and the education edition starts at $1,099, starting in July.

Apple also introduced the M2 MacBook Pro with the same design, starting at $1,299, down from $999 for the original M1.
