The release of the first development preview version of Android 14 by Google has been highly anticipated by the tech community. The new version promises to bring a multitude of exciting new features to the table, including the highly sought-after clone APP function. This function, also known as the dual-open feature, has been a popular request among developers for some time.
Although the dual-open feature has been available in the development stage of Android 12, it failed to make it to the official version for reasons unknown. However, with the release of Android 14, developers finally have access to this highly sought-after feature.
Despite its addition to the development preview version, the clone APP function still has a long way to go before it becomes a fully mature and polished feature. Currently, the cloned APP appears identical to the original, making it difficult for users to distinguish between the two. This can result in unintended actions, such as logging into the wrong account when trying to switch between the two.
However, with the underlying support of Android 14, the dual-open feature in domestic ROMs is expected to become much more stable and secure. Additionally, Android 14 brings other exciting new features to the table, such as improved support for devices with different screen sizes, better battery life and system health, optimized background application broadcasting, and more precise alarm permissions.
The full release of Android 14 is expected to occur around the middle of the year, and the tech community is eagerly waiting to see what other new and exciting features it will bring. With the first development preview version now available, developers have a chance to get a taste of what’s to come and start adjusting their systems accordingly.
