The well-known Cube brand has been rebranded. But it continues designing ultra-affordable tablets, tablet PCs, laptops, and other products. The latest of them is the Alldocube M5, which is another 10-inch tablet that will meet most of your daily tasks. As usual, it costs too less. Our protagonist is sold for $161.99.
Like other tablets from the same price range, the Alldocube M5 uses a metal body. On the opposite side, it carries a 10.1-inch IPS touchscreen with a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels. This resolution has a 12:5 aspect ratio. It is also known as WQXGA extended in width by 50% or 4K UHD (3840 × 2160) reduced in height by 26%. This resolution is commonly encountered in cinematic 4K content that has been cropped vertically to a widescreen 2.4:1 aspect ratio. So we can state one of the biggest selling points of the Alldocube M5 is its screen.
Under the hood, it sports a MediaTek MTK6797 chip. Seems there is nothing interesting with this SoC, but it comes with 10 cores. The MTK6797 (aka Helio X20) is an upper mainstream ARM SoC. It is manufactured in a 20 nm process. Two fast Cortex-A72 cores are running at up to 2.3 GHz, four Cortex-A53 cores at up to 1.83 GHz and four Cortex-A53 cores at up to 1.4 GHz. All cores support 64-bit. The integrated ARM Mali T880 MP4 GPU is clocked at up to 780MHz and has four clusters from the Midgard architecture. The chip also includes an LTE modem as well as a WLAN 802.11ac modem. So it supports a dual-band WiFi. The integrated video encoder can handle up to 4Kx2K H.265 at 30 fps and HDR. The SoC can also decode H.265, H.264, and VP9 in 4K30. Plus, the chip is paired with a 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage.
The rest of features include Android 8.0 out of the box, 6500mAh battery, dual speakers bringing 3D sound experience, a 5MP camera on the back, a 2MP camera on the front, 4G support, and many more. The Alldocube M5 is currently available on Alixpress for just $161.99.
