Nowadays, transparent electronics have gained significant popularity, largely driven by the success of Nothing and their products, such as the Nothing Ear (1) and Phone (1). Undoubtedly, the internal circuitry appears attractive, and after Nothing’s proactive move, several brands have followed suit, one of which is Acefast.
Introduction, Acefast an electronic brand from Shenzhen, China, is elevating the TWS earbuds space with its own Crystal T6 model. Well, the manufacturer recently launched its new model called Acefast Crystal (2) T8, which is like the T6 but vitaminized in practically everything. Not only do they look great, but they’re also even easier to use and sound even better.
To know further about it, today we present you the review of this newly launched in-ear TWS headphones that stand out for their transparent design, LED digital display, ENC support, IPX4 rating, and a variety of color combinations and these are just a few of their best features, further we will explore in this article.
Before starting the review, we want to thank ACEFAST for their confidence in giving us this product for analysis. Now, let’s look at if it’s worth buying.
Thanks to the additional 15% discount coupon, now you can buy these earbuds at the price of $56.99 (instead of retail for $99.99) from Amazon.
Note: There are no black/white colors yet, and it may have to wait until after April 20th. In addition, the price of this “Ice Blue” version is $10 cheaper than other colors.
Unboxing
We begin the review of the Acefast Crystal 2 T8 in front of its white cardboard box, which shows us the device’s design on the front and its specifications on the back, along with its key features that are distributed across all sides.
The foam frame provides reliable protection for the contents inside, while the accessories are neatly arranged in separate cardboard boxes around them.
Along with the documentation, the charging case comes with a silicone cover and a rubber band that can be used to wear it around the neck. A USB-C cable is also provided for charging purposes. Additionally, a hard plastic case is included with three extra sets of pads in addition to the ones that are already attached.
Design & Build Quality
Considering its name, the Crystal series is known for its transparent design, which gives gamers a cool view of the device’s machinery. Plus, it comes in six colors, all with transparent casings, including Alfalfa Purple, Lotus Pink, Ice Blue, Mint Green, and Bright Black, all of them have a transparent casing that allows us to glimpse their interior. I tested the Ice Blue version, and it looks just as stylish as the online photos show.
There’s a Type-C port at the bottom, and both earbuds have white lights on them that light up while charging or connecting.
Visually, the antenna located in the upper margin stands out, which allows Bluetooth connectivity and TWS interconnectivity to remove all possible cables.
The Acefast Crystal (2) T8 earphones have a unique design element that sets them apart from other earphones in the market.
Unlike other earphones that come with a casing, these earphones use magnetic clasps to hold them in place. This feature not only gives them a sleek and eye-catching look but also makes them easier to use and carry around.
Besides, when you place the earbuds back on the charging case, there is a pleasing click, and the case lights up to indicate that it is charging the earbuds.
Speaking of all the lights, the pulsing LEDs on the headphones serve as a useful indicator for the battery life. The LEDs show the battery percentage for each earbud and the charging case, allowing you to easily monitor the charge levels.
However, it would be more convenient if the indicator could light up without having to remove and reattach the earbuds each time you want to check the charge level. Overall, the LED display provides a helpful feature for managing the battery life of the headphones.
As we mentioned above, The product includes a silicone carrying case and lanyard, which can shield the charging case against any scratches or impacts. However, taking out the earbuds has always been a challenging task since the charging case tends to move around inside the silicone case due to the lack of a secure grip. Consequently, the use of the silicone case is more of a personal choice than a compulsory requirement.
Overall, the Acefast Crystal 2 T8 hits the right spot in terms of design and build quality.
Connectivity
The Acefast Crystal (2) T8 have Bluetooth 5.3 and I don’t know if it’s because I’ve tested them with Vivo iQOO, but I’ve easily gotten 5 or 6 meters more distance without connectivity problems. It does not seem like much but in practice, it is something that allows you to get into a remote room and not cut the audio. As I said, I don’t know if the improvement comes from the headset, the phone, or a combination of both, it’s probably the latter. In any case, Bluetooth 5.3 works very well, it is evident.
Pairing is as easy as you can imagine. They are sought and found. Operation time, ten seconds. Fifteen if you’re just up.
Control and Functions
During use, the touch function is convenient and practical. By clicking and long pressing the touch panel of the headset, you can realize functions such as powering on and off, changing music tracks, increasing or decreasing volume, answering calls, and also allows you to reset the device. More info regarding the touch controls can easily be found in the manual. Each action is confirmed by a sound in the handset that performed the action.
- left/right earbud: hold = activate the assistant
- left/right earphone during a call: double tap = answer/end call
- left/right earbud when ringing: hold = ignore the call
- left/right earphone: two taps = pause/play
- left/right earphone: three taps = next track
- left/right earbud one tap: volume up
Sound Quality & Comfort
In terms of sound quality, Acefast Crystal 2 T8 is powered by a coaxial dual-moving coil sound unit, which separates the high and low frequencies and outputs them independently, bringing a good sense of sound effect.
The dome treble dynamic coil is equipped with Hengxuan 2600 Bluetooth chip. The sound quality experience of the earphones is not bad, and it can present clear and thorough sound effects. Whether it is treble, midrange, or bass, it can be well restored.
Moreover, it comes with ENC call noise reduction. I deliberately made calls in noisy environments such as subways and bus stations, and the voice was very clear.
The comfort of this headset is also not inferior. It adopts an ergonomic design and is comfortable to wear. It does not feel pressure on the ear after wearing it for a long time.
The headset fits perfectly with the ear canal and is very stable. Even during exercise in daily life In addition, it also comes with 3 pairs of earplugs of different sizes and silicone protective sleeves of the same color, suitable for different users.
Battery Life
Regarding the batteries, the box has 480mAh, and the headphones, 45mAh each. The manufacturer claims that a single charge offers 7 hours of playback and up to 30 with the box, but 1 got 6 hours of listening time on a single charge, while the case charged the earbuds in around an hour. By using the charging case, I managed to charge the earbuds slightly more than three times, resulting in a total battery life of approximately 25 hours.
On the other hand, the case charges via a Type-C port and takes around two hours to charge with both earbuds. Furthermore, the earbuds do not offer wireless charging. The battery life of 25 hours is commendable for a TWS earbud set and can be further extended to 30 hours by adjusting the listening volume to lower levels.
Summary
Acefast Crystal (2) T8 is a fashionable earphone product. Its LED backlight and transparent construction are poetry for my eyes and ears too – here a huge appreciation for the manufacturer and designers – seriously, people, I really like you for this idea!
The sound quality is good, comfortable to wear, supports the latest 5.3 Bluetooth, and has a battery life of up to 30 hours. This headset can be said to be a headset with a stylish appearance, sound quality, and comfort. Whether it is used in outdoor sports or daily life, it is very practical. I wish I could say something bad, but… I can’t think of it. If it comes up, I’ll tell you.
